The Festival of 2019

Stockholm Film Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary and takes the opportunity to pay tribute to the French film wonder. The festival is inaugurated with the film »Marriage Story« by Noah Baumbach with Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in the lead roles. Festival favorite Xavier Dolan visits Stockholm with his latest film »Matthias & Maxime« and holds a masterclass at Filmhuset.

Ten years after Susan Sarandon inaugurated the world's first ice cinema screen in Stockholm, the ice blocks are back in Kungsträdgården just in time for the 30th anniversary celebrations. The 6 ton ice blocks come from ICEHOTEL and have been harvested from Torneälven in Jukkasjärvi. On the ice canvas is the inaugural film Martin Scorsese classic »A Night in New York« (1985) - presented by Rosanna Arquette. This year's focus country was France and Spotlight was "Organized crime".

This Year's festival poster from the film »Portrait of a Lady on Fire« by Céline Sciamma.
