The Festival of 2012

The 23rd edition of the Stockholm Film Festival contains more than 170 film premieres from more than 50 countries. One third of the films in the program are created by a female director. This year's Stockholm Film Festival opens with the acclaimed political thriller »Call Girl« by Mikael Marcimain, the middle film is Robert Zemecki's »Flight« with Denzel Washington and rounds off the festival with Paul Thomas Anderson's circulating »The Master«.

This year's spotlight is »Power«. This year's Stockholm Visionary Award goes to the uncompromising Jacques Audiard who previously enchanted the audience with »The Beat That My Heart Skipped« and »A Prophet«. He visits the festival with the strong drama »Rust and Bone«. Stockholm Lifetime Achievement Award goes to the Swedish legend Jan Troell. In addition, the festival welcomes one of the world's best actors, the multifaceted Willem Dafoe, who is awarded the Stockholm Achievement Award.

ROARING ENTRANCE
