During 90 minutes 17 cameras follow the football team Real Madrid’s captain Zinedine Zidane in a game against Villareal in the spring of 2005. From all possible angles they track Zidane’s every move - his facial expressions, his amazing touch and his ballerina-like actions. Subtitles run across the screen occasionally, quoting “Zizou” about the game and his personal memories. All though Zidane made a rather sad exit from professional football (after head butting Italy’s Marco Materazzi in the World Cup Final) he was probably the last decade’s finest footballer. His technical skills, his amazing understanding of the game and his ability to keep the ball made him a true football genius. Viewers who expect a traditional documentary will probably be disappointed, the portrait of Zidane could easily play in art galleries. It’s a beautiful film that captures one of modern sports most fantastic performers.JOHAN THORNTON
