The Promise

Qingcheng, a poor, orphaned girl meets a boy in a dead forest. Driven by hunger she steals his food and escapes into the marshland. There, a sorceress offers her a spell, by which she must forsake the prospect of true love for the promise of adoration and power. The spell can only be broken if the impossible happens; snow falling in summer and the dead coming back to life. 20 years later two warlords are fighting over a kingdom they both want to control. Quicheng, now a beautiful princess, is saved from death by a man in red armor and a golden mask. She falls in love with her savior but is tormented by their inevitable parting.
