a couple of Spice Girls-possessed kids with Cockney accents. These are a few of the ingredients in Andrea Arnold's very British, kitchen sink realist white trash portrayal WASP.
With shaky hand camera, Arnold tells a tragicomic story of how the young single mom Zoe one day is asked out to'the pub by an old boyfriend, and how she deals with the situation as she can't manage to find a babysitter. Raw, ''up yours!''-attitude mixes with compassion in this captivating drama which is part of the Scottish Cinema Extreme project.
