Xiao Ji and Bin Bin are best friends on the loose. No jobs, no plans, no future. They spend most of their time out in the streets on their motorcycles, driving around the boring small town they inhabit, waiting for something to happen. That is, when they're not out partying. Xiao Ji is the dreamer of the two, a gangster film buff very much in love with beautiful model/dancer Qiao Qiao and constantly reaching for something bigger and better. Bin Bin's a more down to earth guy. But clouds are appearing even in his so far blue sky. His mother wants him to straighten up by joining the army and his longtime girl- friend is leaving for college, thus further minimalizing his belief in the future. After Xiao Ji gets in a bit of trouble with Qiao Qiao's thug-like boyfriend, he, Qiao Qiao, Bin Bin and his girlfriend hit the road - the under-construction motorway to Beijing. And suddenly Unknown Pleasurse turns into a hunt for easy money and young complicated love, a nihilistic road trip towards the big city lights shot with minimalistic DV-camera. Sparse, neat and, last but certainly not least, with the coolest hair-dos this side of The Byrds. DAN FRÖBERG
