Young Seyyed has moved to the city and is studying to become a mullah. As he comes closer to being vested, he starts to have doubts in his faith, hence questions his own ability. While wandering the streets pondering he meets some homeless people living under a bridge. They strengthen his questions to God about injustice and meaning.
Slowly and quietly, with warmth and humour, this film reflects over the inevitable modernisation and secularisation of Iran. It captures a confusing situation where the subway stands in contrast to the mosques, and wher the mullahs are trying to get used to mobile phones, while grieving over the new generations' lack of interest in religion. Winner of the Critic's Week.
