Terkel is a sixthgrader having some trouble with two bullies from school, Nigel and Saki. They love making fun of fat kids and Terkel, not knowing how to stop them, just plays along with them and their jokes. Unfortunately, this ends up making him responsible for the suicide of his best friend's sister and all of a sudden, Terkel is receiving death threats. Did anyone tell you that it was easy being a kid? Forget about it!
Anders Matthesen, perhaps Denmark's highest rated stand up comedian, has written the script for this cool animated story that
is based on the radio series with the same name as the film. The dialogue is fantastic, full of innovative expressions, and yes - it makes you feel old. The characters seem as if they come straight from our modern society. Anders Matthesen makes their voices himself, and it is a task that he orchestrates perfectly. Watching this film is a true joy for grownups as well as for children. Allusions to films such as The Shining and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are made throughout the film and the style is clearly inspired by the TV-series The Simpsons and South Park.
