His niece is to be baptised and he is going to be the godfather. But Jacob, an immigration lawyer in his thirties, can't make it in time. He realises this fact as he is tied to a bed with a humping woman on top of him. The fact that he doesn't have anything else to wear than the rabbit suit from last night's wild costume party doesn't really help. This opening scene establishes Jacob as a true bachelor who changes his girlfriends like he changes his socks and does everything to avoid emotional commitments - read marriage and children. But one day the charming doctor Nina enters his life and everything is turned upside down. Now Jacob must decide whether he is going to give up his carefree, superficial life to be with the woman he loves, or not.
This is an unapologizing romantic comedy about two people who reach out for each other, and about the daring process of leaving the safety of one's usual life to meet the unknown in another. Entertainment is the word when young director Alexander Eik manages to combine the classic romcom-tradition from Hollywood with hilarious British hits like The Full Monty, Notting Hill and Love Actually. He is turning his first feature film into a huge box office success, with Norway's most popular stand up-comedian, Thomas Giertsen, in the leading role. Giertsen is well-suited to work with this material and presents a performance so warm and gentle one smile the whole way through it.
