The pornographic Hollywood is observed through documentary images. In the interviews, people involved in the porn industry give their view of the business and amongst the voices we hear are directors, actors, AIDS-test developers, models, producers and many more. Anders Dalgaard's feature film debut, Nether World, was shown at the Stockholm Film Festival in 1997. He now returns with an even more engaging film, this time in the shape of a documentary. Dalgaard's thoughts still seem to revolve around these questions, but you could say that he has moved from posing the question in relation to general life towards posing the question to a specific life, that within pornography, why do you start working within the porn industry and how do you work? Is it possible to make righteous the fact that you take part in a porn film? How safe is it to work even if you use a condom? Why are there people who still refuse to practice safe sex? Are all producers bastards? Do people care about each other at all? A couple of episodic films which were aimed as documentaries for Danish television have been edited together into a feature film, with a quicker tempo and faster cuts. Some of the people noticed amongst the interviewees are Jane Hamilton, who used to be known as the porn star Veronica Hart, Hustler's chief editor Mark Croner, John Holmes' widow Laurie, the porn star Jenna Jameson, the HIV-positive producer John Stagliano and the hard working Ron Jeremy who, after participating in over 500 films, lately has been trying to get a 'real' Hollywood career? (Did you know by the way that he had a part in Ronin, but it was edited out? He is listed in tile credits as Ron Hyatt).
