The Cell

Serial killer Carl Stargher falls into a coma, while his last victim is still locked up in a room that is slowly being filled with water, In order to find this death cell, the FBI turn to psychologist Catherine Deane for help. She is researching a virtual reality technique that offers the possibility of entering another person's subconscious. But once she gets into Stargher's psyche she realises that she has taken on more than she might be able to handle. Soon she is entangled by his nightmares. Tarsem has created a visual roller coaster in the thought world of the serial killer - a kind of nightmare version of the video to Michael Jaokson's Leave me alone. The effects are astonishing and enhanced by Vincent D'Onofrios fierce acting in the part of Stargher. In the way it describes two kinds of worlds the thriller and sci/fi genres are mixed.
