A beautifully filmed war story which circles not around death but around life. The legendary Maori soldiers who fought and died during the Second World War are forever remembered in New Zealand. In this prize winning short film we get to meet them in the sixth batallion as they quietly wait for the fighting to continue. Director Taika Waititi focuses on the soldiers humour and friendship, and shows them to us as real people stuck in an unreal situation. The film received an Honorable Mention at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as in Berlin. LISA MARIE MANNFOLK
