Talking With Angels

Talking With Angels

av Yousaf Ali Khan

Alan, a ten year old boy living in dirty Salford in the 70's, grows up early to help his mentally unstable mother. Alan holds the family together, making sure his mother gets the medical attention she needs.
Director Khan deals with both harsh social realism and the dark inner hallucinations of the mother's schizophrenic mind. Twelve-year-old Stephen Buckley in the lead adds tension to the drama with the hard focused gaze only a caring child can give. Talking with Angels was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Short Film in 2004.
