Tao, a sexually confused schoolgirl, seeks answers and extra money writing porn for her uncle's magazine ''Sayew''. But her poetic touch turns out to be a real non-hit, and as she gets one last chance, the poetry must hitthe trash and the sleaze must come through. Her inner voice finds a real challenge in trying to make the change, but when hEir path crosses silicon porn-valley and the Void - a home made pussy gadget - it takes a nude-photographer, Num (who looks like a Thai version of Andy McCoy of the Hanoi Rocks). to make her realize which world she really belongs to.
Taking place in the early 90's, when sex was taboo in Thailand, Sayew is an exploration of a young woman's
search for some action. Through her fantasies, you follow the changes within Tao who, in her effort t~ please the magazine, only drifts further away from the world she explores. The crew of trash journalism is fabulous, but as the story progresses you realize that the porn business is more a secondary theme than the actual fOCLLS of the film. This is, in fact, more a sweet story than a provocative one - except for maybe in its country of production where politics still rage against these hedonistic ways.
