Stockholm Film Festival

New York, 1993. A family prepares to celebrate Christmas. She, the wife
(Drea De Matteo), is of Puerto Rican origin and he, her husband
(Lillo Brancato), is Dominican. They came as immigrants in search of the American dream, but in order to attain it only one solution is at hand: drug-trafficking.

During one of their ''business meetings'' the husband is kidnapped, and she is approached by a black, racist gangster (rapper Ice-T) who demands a ransom. But it's Christmas, people are out of town, and nobody can help. The determined gangster won't let his victim go and raises the ransom, but at the same time a far from normal relationship start to develop between the wife and the gangster.
