It’s the end of the 60’s. The three childhood friends Ice, Dandy and The Lebanese have just been released from prison after serving time for a crime they committed as boys. Now The Lebanese has a vision of conquering the underworld of Rome, which leads to the forming of a criminal organization. During the course of 25 years we follow the gang in their pursuit of power via corrupt politicians, terrorism and kidnapping, incessantly chased by the police lieutenant Scialoia. Crime Novel is based on a novel portraying real events from Italy’s history of organized crime and in particular the story of the criminal organization Banda Della Magliana. The ominous music, the photography, the editing – everything plays an equally important part in creating the atmosphere which characterizes this epic. Crime Novel was nominated for Best Film at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.JONAS ADNER
