Hannes is a middle-aged man who has been working for the Institute of State Supervision for 30 years. The institute is an Orwellian authority, which constantly restricts the rights of the population. Without anyone taking notice, Hannes develops a powerful computer program that watches over people, registrating what they eat, where they go and What they do. Secretly he uses it to spy on the institutes new secretary, whom he has fallen in love with. One day, Hannes's computer is sUddenly stolen and everything he has worked for falls apart. Desperately trying to reclaim the computer, Hannes starts breaking the
rules that he himself has set up for others and comes to a somewhat surprising revelation, learrting what status is all about.
With a script written by David Oddsson, the artistic Prime Minister of Iceland, Revelation for Hannes is something as unusual as a low budget and somewhat absurd drama about a society where state control has gotten out of hand. It has striking similarities to Kaflds The Process and Orwells's 1984. This simplistic film has all the qualifications to become a cult classic.
