Played out against the backdrop of an Iowa farm town marked by a severe drought, Rain is a compelling and sad tale about small town inhabitants whose mistakes and secrets keep them imprisoned and suffering. The story circulates around Ellen who feels trapped by the town mentality. Her well-built facade begins to fall apart as she gets rid of her cheating husband and sins of the past start to unfold.
Scorsese is the executive producer of this drama starring Melora Walters (Boogie Nights, Magnolia) and Diane Ladd, who starred in Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore which gave her an Academy Award nomination.
