Seldom do we hear the real opinions of people living with war. As the news media concerns itself with the actual events, the explosions, the terror attacks and the death toll, there are few documents of the daily life. Promises discusses a very problematic situation, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in a very straight forward way. In interviews with seven children from both sides of the border, Goldberg succeeds in giving them the self-esteem to say what's on their minds. Without the heated emotions of the elderly, they come to understand ways of approaching people they've always thought as enemies, realising that the differences between them are possible to overcome.
