Bread and Tulips

On a bus tour the housewife Rosalba is left behind in a restaurant. While she is waiting to be collected by the returning bus, it strikes her that she has now the chance of her lifetime to experience some adventure. The tedious housewife's lot is swapped for a trip to Venice, where she settles down. Just for while, she thinks, but destiny knows otherwise. Rebellious housewives have a place in film history - but they are usually about more agonising breaks than for Rosalba. Without really having thought about her situation, this short unplanned break from husband and children awakens her. For Rosalba it is a matter of discovering the world outside her home and she does so with an open mind. Actors that shine in the film include Bruno Ganz as a disillusioned waiter and, hardly known outside Italy, Licia Maglietta as Rosalba.
