7–18 november 2012

Bruce Palmer and his colleague Pearl are at Palmer's Pick-Up and Delivery in Los Angeles waiting for a new assignment when the phone rings. A man offers them 12,000 dollars if they deliver a large crate to Florida. It's important that the crate gets there in time - before midnight on New Year's Eve - but Palmer and Pearl don't know what is in the crate and they aren't allowed to open it either. Pearl has his suspicions but isn't encouraged by Palmer, whose only interest is the money. But he also becomes obsessed with reports of the disappearance of Dick Cash, his favourite talk show host. During their trip across the continent - filled with odd characters - Parker follows intensively all the news bulletins about the disappearance of Cash, while Pearl worries about the undefinable evil that he believes resident in the crate. The importance of the crate increases as we approach the end of 1999. The world's destiny depends on it and it rests in the hands of Palmer and Pearl. x
