Oh La La!

When retired operetta star Odette congratulates the bohemian director Augustin Dos Santos for his one-man-show at a seniors’ facility, she doesn’t expect to create a snowball effect. As Augustin has just been offered to direct a “typically French performance” for a group of Swedish businessmen, he decides to revive one of Odette’s old favorite shows. With the help of TV star Bettina, Augustin takes Odette back into the razzle and dazzle.Oh La La! is Anne Fontaine’s third film about Augustin, the Parisian actor who is always broke but full of ideas (played by her brother Jean-Chrétien Sibertin-Blanc). How ever, this time Danielle Darrieux steals the show as the luminous diva Odette and proves that she is still – after 75 years in the business – going strong. Fontaine has been acclaimed for her dramatic work, and with Oh La La! she takes the opportunity to mix her melancholia with situational comedy.NIKITA AVERIN KRONLUND
