A young boy, Ben, is living in modern everyday hell. His mother is a heroin addict who prostitutes herself to fund her habit, something that results in Ben being bullied at school. Driven beyond endurance by the harsh adult world he lives in, the child finds a startling and extreme resolution to his problems.
Ben's attempt to break out of this vicious cycle builds up an almost inhuman tension, lifted by extraordinary performances in this powerful short film made in the tradition of other English directors like Mike Leigh and Ken Loach.
