This is a gorgeous surrealistic fantasy with authentic footage
from the visit of Che Guevara at Dublin airport in 1964. The
dreamy cinematography in black and white presents an Ireland
of the 50’s, where a young woman, Beth (played by Fiona
O’Shaughnassey) is more absorbed by H.G. Welles’ science
fi ction novel The War of the Worlds rather than by the real threat
posed by the Cuban missile crisis. She takes off to fi nd Che
Guevara, the only person who might be able to save the world
from the invasion from outer space.
Meeting Che Guevara And the Man from the Maybury Hills is a
beautiful fi lm which leave many enigmas haunting you long after
the end of the story.
