Matchbox

A dollhouse vision of one guy's flat, where the twodimensionality serves both animation purposes and a linear but imaginative plot line. The guy gets home, answers the phone, eats his dinner and falls asleep in front of the TV. Then suddenly, the doorbell rings and awakens him. Another character is introduced and together they leave the flat. This isolated event is perfect for expanding the formal qualities of computer animation. At first sight Milieu and characters in Matchbox appear small, but the downsized gestures and hypnotic rhythm demand greater awareness from the audience. JOHAN LINDQVIST
