When new digital media and its effect on filmmaking is discussed, the focus is usually on the digital camera. The head of the Swedish Film Council, Ase Kleveland, is only one of many who have spoken of how the digital camera will democratize filmmaking. Film will always, because of its materialistic nature, live in symbiosis with contemporary technical achievements - no New Wave 60's without lightweight cameras, maybe. Therefore digital media should be one of the main issues of contemporary cinema. This is also the case in Love Is a Treasure. But it is not because of the ''democratic'' digital camera. I nstead, the film uses computers in a way that is more common in selfconscious genres, such as the music video. Love is a Treasure consists of several episodes, each told from the point-of-view of different young women. By using digital manipulation of the images, the filmmakers seek to convey their different, not always sane, experiences of the world. In an interesting and very experimental way showing that the digital revolution in film is not only about the digital camera. OSCAR JULANDER
