LONG GOODBYE, THE

Philip Marlowe is waiting for another case to turn up when his pal Terry Lennox appears and asks for a ride to Tijuana. Marlowe agrees unsuspectingly. But when the Los Angeles police have Marlowe locked up for assisting in a jailbreak he finds out that Lennox has skipped a trial where he stood accused of murdering his wife, an accusation that Marlowe finds it hard to believe. When the police find out that Lennox has killed himself in Mexico, Marlowe is released. New cases crop up, but still he cannot forget the injustice done to his friend. And finally the case is solved, but not in the way Marlowe expected.
