The 16-year old Murat lives in a Turkish part of Berlin. Since his father's death the older brother Osman runs the family. To escape his brother's nagging about getting rid of his chastity Murat seeks a new part of the city. Osman's supreme command of homosexuality as sin and dishonor isn't valid there, and Murat gets the chance to find out who he is. Murat feels at home in the parks and the bars among the transvestites and semi-prostitutes. He is especially friendly with Lola, who also is a Turk and sings in a transvestite show. Lola is the central figure in a group of friends and lovers, and his young lover Bilidikid gets jealous of Murat. But Murat feels free at last and, for a short while, completely happy. He lives in two worlds and they are depicted differently: his home world is quietly filmed in cool colours and the world of transvestites and bars which he is drawn into is filmed with a hand camera and with the real colours. But the two meet when it is obvious that Lola carries secrets that have to do with Murat's family. When more hidden stories surface then the catastrophe unfolds.
