A short film so brief that much of the imagery is bound to enter unconsciously, this probably being a conscious move since the film rests on the surrealist tradition where the subconscious plays an important part. A woman’s mouth reveals a hairy tongue and resembling the mouth of a cat as it would look coughing up a hairball, the mouth of the beast (or is it the beauty?) spits out a wrinkled piece of paper. An invisible hand unfolds it and starts writing Kafka’s famous words about Gregor Samsa’s unpleasant surprise while a most visible hand goes through its own metamorphosis.JONATHAN ROZENKRANZ
