How does one kill a lobster? If you, like the film’s protagonist, know nothing about domestic life, you’d better not. All in all, this desperate housewife, played by the Hal Hartley sweetheart Elina Löwensohn, seems a bit retarded. In her attempts to please her husband with an amazing dinner, she gradually falls apart and enters a psychotic state. The production design is the opposite of low-budget, very wallpaper-esque and so is the look of the shots - tasteful and ascetic. Great music accompanies this freakish film.
