Kings of Ads

av Fellini, Godard, Polanski amongs others

A film made of commercials by famous directors like Annaud, Beineix, Chabrol, Fellini, Godard, Lelouch, Leone, Polanski, Saura, Scorsese, Spielberg, Zeffirelli and many other giants.
Comment:
Close-up: Woman. French voices. More women. They yell as they open and close Venetian blind doors of a building. The camera pans out.Its a castle. Only one door is closed.
Or, men talking about shoes. Nice shoes you've got. A golf ball comes flying, a horse, walking-pace, passes by. The men spealc Every time you believe the film is coming to an end, another comment: Nice shoes you've got.
Another time there is a pattern made of people. They make up a mouth, an ear, an eye. They turn into an air-line company.
94 commercials by 62 directors. French, British, Italian, Spanish, American and some Swedish. All men? Inventive? None of the ones I expected to be, like David Lynch, Fellini, Scorsese or Polanski. But there are many others with films like short novellas or beautiful, at times, arty films, like the ones mentioned above. These films make what they're trying to sell less interesting than how they sell. The manipulation itself, and the artistic, take over. Like:

In some cases different directors have made commercials about the same trademark. The same beer is in one case a throbbing beer against a yellow-black-white backdrop. In the other, it's a beer gone flat after a peaceful evening's work on the score,
There is a recurring theme.
Cars. Shiny, breaking chains, moving up ramps, made by robots without any human touches (and that's a good sign). Men drive the cars. Once a woman drives. It's Grace Jones. Her head is transformed into a machine. Cars are born through her mouth.
Another recurring theme.
Women. Often lying down, sitting, standing. Often carressing a bottle of perfume or bottles of water. Maybe that's why I was intrigued by the film With the yelling women, opening and closing doors.
Or, by she, who pulls down zipper after zipper and then, herself, calls mom
