In the middle of the Namibian desert a bus filled with tourists runs out of petrol. They are stuck in a small and, except for one man, abandoned mining village. The days pass by without any sign of them being rescued and they start to realise tnat they are doomed. That is when an idea presents itself to put up a production of the theatre play, King Lear. The fourth Dogma film digs deep down, into the desert sand and exposes instability and desperation. Levring shows people's need for artistic expression, even when awaiting death. While being a film about acting, it at the same time becomes a show of various action techniques. The actors are all trained in different parts of the world, which adds even more dimensions to the already ill-matched group of people. The movie is dedicated to actor Brion James, who passed away, shortly after the making of the film.
