Despite its vile scenery, the message of Ki lIer Tattoo is that of forgiveness - in the end, violence solves nothing. Most intriguing, though, is that this film never gives the answer asto whether forgiveness is an option or not. The unresolved, disastrous events in the past of the five main characters are the source of what makes them equally tragic as well as comic. Even though the gangster movie aesthetics may catch the eye, the message beneath Killer Tattoo's visually pleasing cinematography is poignant and difficult to forget. SOFIA BULL
