This great American chamber play sums up the post-war moods of the USA and contains the finest acting talent of the period. In a small hotel lin the Florida Keys, gangster Johnny Rocco and his band of extremely unpleasant personalities decides to wait out a storm, only to create an even more intense one themselves. The poignant dialogue and well-presented characters is as good as amy example of the strong, product that Hollywood of 1928 was able to create. Legends fill the screen; Lionel Barrymoore; acting grandly from his wheelchair, Edward G Robinson, one of the true greats and arguably the best gangster ever to disgrace the screen; Bogie at his best; Claire Trevor, who did many great parts and won an Oscar for this one, Marc Wallace, still out there today and tough as hell at 93; and BacaIl, of whom Robinson said; ''At the risk of embarrassing her with, a word she'd hate, I think she's loveable.''
