Joyride

The ironic title of this short, condensed, teenage angst drama paves way for a both nasty and uncomfortable experience. Taking place a dark night, the ugly flipside of drinking and making out in cars is displayed with open brutality. Successfully, these all too familiar games of youth are brought forward with an almost reserved narrative, based on philosophies of dance, where snapshotlike imagery creates a haunting atmosphere and mood. Director Corkery, equally interested in form and content let the two merge, forming a unique piece of film and art. MARTIN FROSTBERG
