Hurtle

A surrealistic dance-comedy about a day in the life of two unusual nuns in a convent. Driven by their primary physical needs they seek spiritual redemption, from the closed cell of their existence to the open fields and the unending oceans. Searching for the higher truth they break all the trivial laws that govern the movements of the body in time and space. Helped by modern special effects, dancers Taana Mete and Kelly Nash are able to win the battle against gravity that they usually fight. Shona McCullagh has used all the dynamic that is in the medium of film in conjunction with a playful release-technique in her choreography to the rhythmic sound collages of David Long.
