Hundarna i Riga

On the coast of southern Sweden, a rubber dinghy is washed ashore containing two dead men. The dinghy is from Latvia and the men have been tortured and murdered. Kurt Wallander from Ystad's police takes on tile case and is assisted by Major Liepa from tile Latvian police. During tile course of theil'' work together they become good friends and Liepa confides to Wallander about the Russian Mafia's infiltration into the Latvian police. Eventually Liepa returns to Latvia, but is murdered shortly afterwards. Wallander travels to Riga to help his Latvian colleagues with the murder investigation. It soon develops into a hunt for the truth among corrupt policemen and underground freedom fighters.
