Stockholm Film Festival

”Heat” was the third film I made after ”Flesh” and ”Trash”. After ”Lonesome Cowboys” and ”San Diego Surf” Andy realized that his operating of the camera was no longer very productive. I made all three films entirely by myself with only onle person, Jed Johnson, operating the sound. I wrote the story, photographed it, directed it and edited it.
Although the first two were shot only for a few hours on weekend afternoons at a few thousands dollars cost, both films played all over the U.S and Europe and were the first Factory Productions to earn any real money and play in regular cinemas. In ”Heat” I only doubled the budget of ”Trash” by taking the cast to L.A and staying about 3 weeks, only shooting a few hours a day on weekday afternoons. This film too did very well and remains one of my favourites.
