Stockholm Film Festival

In this multi-lingual gangster/prison story, a Japanese business man,
Hayakawa, is charged with drug possession in the Philippines and is imprisoned. Despite his innocence the court sends him away for life. When Hayakawa arrives at the Philippine prison he finds, to his surprise, that many of the Japanese inmates live there quite happily even though they seem a bit crazy. As long as they keep bribing the guards, they can do pretty much whatever they please.

After being betrayed by his company, his wife, and the Japanese embassy, Hayakawa takes up on an offer made by Yoshida, the ex-Yakuza leader of the inmates, to make money on high risk criminal jobs, and thus start to buy his way back to freedom.
