Friend

A group of four boys growing up in Pusan, pledging eternal friendship to each another. Being a feared gang during their school days, their lives soon take different directions. Some slip further into criminality, others continue their studies. But their lives intertwine again as one of them return from his studies to find his friends involved in rivalling gangs, Once again, their friendship is put on trial.

Well crafted and with solid performances from the cast, Friend is an epic gangster movie with clear-cut formal references to American mafia films such as Goodfellas. The movie is the biggest box-office hit ever in Korea, seen by close to 10 000 000 people.
