Freeze Me

Chihiro; a secondary school girl, is raped by some older friends who also film the actual raping. To start all over again she moves to Tokyo, she finds a job she is happy with and a husband to marry. But then one day one of the rapists appears in her house, He is there waiting for his accomplices, Chihiro's situation is getting desperate but she gets her revenge. Violent and beautiful stories with screamingly funny elements are not Iacking, but Ishii's manga-background may have contributed to the fact that both images and story telling vary in an interesting way. Freeze Me is an example of the really interesting aspect of recent Japanese film, namely the will to vary the audio-visual ways of expression without losing the art of telling a story.
