It’s the dawn of a new day somewhere in America. A young girl is woken up by her sisters. It’s her birthday, but something seems wrong. Why is everybody so serious? Why doesn’t the girl look happy? She’s being washed and dressed in an almost ritual style, and although she isn’t exactly hostile to it, she is silently suffering. At the end the shocking truth of this religious family will be revealed. An eerie feeling of unease fills every frame of the picture, sustained by the wordless soundtrack and the masterful editing.FREDRIK GUSTAFSSON
