Before a wedding, four old friends that almost completely have lost contact with one another reunite. There's a party, lots of drinking, catching up, laughing, crying and feelings unveiling. To try and recapitulate Four Women is equivalent to summarise one stormy season of your favourite TV-soap. More impressing is that the feature debuting Baker Karim has, with a small amount of money and in an even smaller amount of time, managed to create this year's most interesting film. Part of the explanation might be found in the fact that Karim has been shaped in the school of low budget legend Roger Corman.
Regardless if you think that the cleverly false documentary style outweigh the less convincing storytelling or not, this is a captivating film that mirrors life, chaotic as it may be.
