Disillusioned and weary, Bill wakes up in a mental institution. He can't remember clearly why he's there, but the doctors tell him he was in a car crash. A psychiatrist tries to talk to him and calm his senses. But Bill can't calm down. Something is wrong with the situation and his mind betrays him with reoccurring hallucinations.
Scott, like many other InDigEnt directors, focuses on the acting. Together with screenwriter Bruce McIntosh, he creates new subtle dimensions to the conflicting narrative. It echoes Kafka and 70's conspiracy films, but the tensions come second hand to the interplay between Bill, played by Denis Leary, and the psychiatrist, played by Hope Davis.
