Federal Hill

The years they spent growing up together in the Italian-American working-class suburb of Federal Hill, Providence, Rhode Island, is what makes the five young men stick together through thick and thin. Especially close are Nicky and Ralph, who are almost like blood brothers.

While most men their age have a career and start a family, this gang is a bunch of losers who pass the time by dealing drugs, gambling and stealing. It is the only life they know of and thus the only one they want. The borders of Federal Hill are at the end of the horizon. In addition they are also bold and hot-blooded in a way that make them unpredictable, even dangerous. The only thing they put a great value on is the solidarity within the gang.

But this holy alliance is knocked for six when Nicky falls head over heals in love with Wendy, an irresistable upper-class girl who hides a wild and adventurous streak behind a good upbringing. Through her Nicky learns that a whole new life is possible. But in his way stand the unwritten laws of Federal Hill.
