Fandango

Platinum blonde Shirley Maus was too short to become a model. She moves among the DJs, club owners, model agents and other hip Germans. Matthias Glasner chose to depict a somewhat older club generation, with its perpetual characters that live a synthetic and escapist life. The background is an array: of dancefloors, model castings, bubble bath, yin and yang, Johnny Depp and Boris Becker, stroboscope, Penthouse, silver dresses, cigarettes, coffee, pouring rain, glass walls, elevators, fake fur, toilet booths and clothes so thin they're invisible when they are on the floor. Add to that a red sports car, a steel case full of drugs, backalleys, restaurant kitchens, deep fryers, parking houses, guns, the Yakuza, sunglasses and tattooed lesbians.
