Vladimiro Montesinos had a mission. The Peruvian society was rotting from within. The people in charge of the country's future were easily led into corruption. Armed with a hidden camera he gets into the offices of politicians, bankers, military officers, judges and journalists, and in front of the camera he offers them bribes. A majority accept the money without as much as a blink of the eye. Montesinos material - the so-called ''Vladivideos'' - is outrageous, absurd, and bizarre; but most of all powerful as the cold and harsh truth is presented in its stark simplicity. More than 50 trials followed the broadcasting of the tapes, and the videos played a significant role in the deposal of Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori. Documentary director and journalist Sonia Goldenberg has compiled a fantastic film from the Montesinos files and mixes it up with (for his ''victims'', embarrassing encounters with acidly vicious voice-over) a lot of ironic humour and, in order to offer some sort of hope, a Greek children choir. A stronger depiction of misuse of power is hard to imagine. DAN FRÖBERG
