To be or not to be a murderer? That is the question in Exit. After being accused of a series of brutal murders Stan is now released from a five-year long stay in a mental hospital. Lack of satisfactory evidence puts him instead in the custody of a psychiatnist. At the same time the news is filled with reports about new murders and Stan grows uncertain. Is he actually the murderer he thinks he is? Confused, he lands in a borderland where the difference between victim and perpetrator gets more and more indistinct. In Exit, madness, death and manipulation form an artful creation both for expressive film language and to someone near Stan. Here the painful uncertainty of the patient is the brushwork on a canvas of growing madness. And the piece of art? Ice-cold calculated murder in a picture without motif.
