M and his friends are growing a slightly manic fascination in vampires. When he meets Carmilla, he introduces her to a vampire roleplaying game called ''Sangre Eterna'' - ''Eternal Blood''. Spending a lot of time together, they get increasingly involved in the game, and eventually fall in love, But after a violent incident in a goth music club, M begins to suspect that vampires are no longer a game, but actually for real. With growing fear he realises that his friends, including Carmilla, are changing. M decides to try to save their souls during an eclipse ofthe moon.
Chilean director Jorge Olguins second feature is a horror/suspense drama which manages to refresh the genre
and bring new light to the vampire myth, extreme graphical visualisations of the roleplaying game is mixed with the suggestive imagery of nightclubs and moody cemeteries, all to a Chilean goth rock soundtrack. By focusing more on M's psychological state than the creatures of the night themselves, Sangre Eterna avoids the most common vampire cliches, Similar to Abel Ferrara's The Addiction, Olguin's direction creates questions about whether the vampires are for real, or a prudent of M's own mind,
