Marion Post is a very successful philosophy professor with high esteem among her colleagues and admired by her students.
I n order to work uninterrupted on her new book, she rents a small apartment in a rental building. She notices that she can hear everything from the analyst in the apartment next to hers, through the air vent. She can not resist the temptation to listen and gets deeply involved in the life of one of the female patients. Th is awakens memories in Marion, that she had long since repressed.
